New Homes in McKinney: Hardin Lake

Hardin Community Sign

Located on the east side of Hardin Road between Eldorado and Virginia is our little gem of a community in McKinney: Hardin Lake. If you read the previous post, you would know that I actually live in this beautiful gem.

If you are a realtor or you know a realtor, you’ve heard the phrase “location, location, location” once or twice. Speaking from experience, everything you might want or need is a stone’s throw away from Hardin Lake. You can learn a lot about what we are building in Hardin Lake on our website (Click HERE to view the community page), but for now, here is a breakdown of why this is one of the best new home communities in McKinney.

Grocery

I was going to make guacamole and I realized my avocados were a little too ripe (This is a common occurrence in our household…seriously, why are avocados never just ready to eat? More on that later). Running back and forth to the Tom Thumb at Hardin and Eldorado took a total of 6 min (not including avocado squeezing selection time). There is also a Market Street and a Kroger just off Eldorado going west.

Dining and Shopping

On the nights where we don’t want to do any homemade cooking, we shoot up to Virginia, hang a right, and drive till we hit the McKinney Square. Square Burger has been a particular favorite so far. If you haven’t been to the square yet, go. Shopping, dining, people watching, it has it all.

Moving In

Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond have become second homes since we moved in. Both of these new homeowner life-saver stores are just off Eldorado closer to 75.

Going to Work

I hope I don’t jinx it by saying this but Sam Rayburn Tollway feels like the best kept secret to the world right now. I’ve yet to see an epic traffic jam and the best part is, going to the airport has never been easier. Literally, go West on Sam Rayburn until you run into the airport. Before navigation was easily provided for free on a smart phone, I would go to Map Quest to print complicated directions. Those days are gone!

The Community

La Casa de Anderlik viewI could go on and on about the location but how about the actual community itself? The topography in Hardin Lake is extremely unique. As you’re driving up to the community, you’ll start to feel an incline. This allows for the homes to stair step down street by street until you reach the lake. OH! Did I mention there was a lake?  The lake is currently being dredged, but they are well on their way to completion.
